Susan DuncanOwner, Coach & Trainer
Susan has been showing hunters and jumpers at the provincial and national levels since the age of 11, working with horses and their humans ever since. Susan is a graduate of Sheridan college in Early Childhood Education. She holds a diploma in Autism Intervention Training (K-12) from the University of New Brunswick, as well as an honours graduate in photography from Humber College. Susan has been an approved Equestrian Canada judge since 2000 in the equitation, hunter, jumper and hack rings. She is a licensed coach with Equestrian Canada. She credits her ability to educate young horses to the many wonderful trainers she has been fortunate to work with over the years. Susan is proud to be a part of introducing and managing the Carrot & Stick Horse Show series, an Ontario Equestrian Skills Development series, intended to provide quality shows at the grassroots level. Ashley is a student at Barrie North and is in grade 10, don't let her age fool you,
Ashley started in the riding program at SJD at the age of 8 and has worked steadily to develop her skills as a rider and a horsewoman. In the last 3 years Ashley has spent dedicated hours working with our ponies and is now our #1 pony squisher. Ashley can be found at the barn as many hours as she can to progress her own training and working towards her competition goals. You will see Ashley competing at the Central Silver Series and schooling our ponies for our young riders. Ashley had worked steadily during covid with online school, therefore has been adopted as our social media producer and as our website designer. Ashleys knowledge and experience at SJD has made her a great asset to the SJD team. |
Destiny MackinnonAssistent Coach/Trainer
We have welcomed Destiny to our team this year as an assistant coach and trainer. Destiny has a appreciation for all of the horses that she works with. She can find the strengths in each horse and rider and works to understand, develop and achieve their individual goals. You will see Destiny competing at the Central Silver Series with her very own "My Oh My". Destinys success in the hunter and jumper ring has made her a perfect fit for the SJD team. |
