Riding Academy Information

The Riding Academy at SJD Equestrian offers programs suitable for riders and equine enthusiasts of all levels and ages. 
Please note, all new clients and participants at SJD Equestrian need to complete and return our Client Release Form

LESSON PROGRAM

With structured semesters offered throughout the year, SJD offers lessons to all levels of riders. Riders have the option of riding one to three times a week between Group Lessons, Private Lessons, Semi Privite Lessons and Practice Rides. With our strutured semsters we include 2 'in barn' weeks to focas on learning about horse helthcare, horse show prep and much more!

Our lesson program focuses on horsemanship of new and continuing riders. The 11 week fall series runs from September 16th - December 14th. There will be no lessons the week of November 10th-16th off, these are not included in the 11 week program. We will have in-barn lessons October 13th-19th and December 1st-7th. Something specific you want to learn like tack care or lunging? This is exactly what this type of lesson is for. 

1-2-3 pROGRAM

 The 1-2-3 Program covers horse safety, leading, horse behaviour, grooming, introduction to riding and correct use of aids. It includes three 60 minute sessions that run over three weeks. Our next session is running in the spring, Check our of facebook page for more information 

CONSULTATION & TOUR

The Rider Consultation is free and includes a tour of the facilities with one of our instructors and a rider consultation.

TOT TO TROT

T2T allows children age 3 to 6 to be introduced to horses, riding and the farm setting in a safe and fun weekly lesson. T2T is 6 week program . Our next T2T session starts October 18th. 

Hot To Trot

H2T focuses on a introduction to horsemanship and developing equine skills for adults. H2T is 6 week program. The next H2T session is running in the spring, stay tuned for dates.
